Notice of Reorganization of the Automotive Coatings Business in Europe

Nippon Paint Holdings Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Chairman of the Board, Representative Executive Officer, President and CEO: Masaaki Tanaka) announces that Nippon Paint Automotive Coatings Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Hirakata-City, Osaka; NPAC) has reorganized the automotive coatings business in Europe. The new organizational structure began on April 1, 2021.

Nippon Paint Holdings has operated the automotive coatings business in Europe through the cooperation between the Nippon Paint Group’s automotive coatings business companies in Europe with names that include Nippon Paint and the Bollig & Kemper Group, which became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nippon Paint Holdings in 2016. We have reorganized this structure by changing the corporate structure of BOLLIG & KEMPER GMBH & CO. KG to a limited liability company and making this company the NPAC European Business Headquarters. In addition, the names of the Nippon Paint Group’s automotive coatings business companies in Europe have been changed to names that begin with Nippon Paint Automotive in order to further strengthen coordination and cooperation in the automotive coatings business in Europe. Another goal is the Maximization of Shareholder Value by increasing the speed of management decision-making, reinforcing governance, and clarifying accountability.

■Outline of the reorganization
・BOLLIG & KEMPER GMBH & CO. KG, a wholly owned subsidiary of Nippon Paint Holdings that develops, manufactures and sells automotive coatings, has become a limited liability company and the NPAC European Business Headquarters.
・The names of the following companies have been changed.

*All procedures for the reorganization are slated for completion by the end of FY2021.

The reorganization of the automotive coatings business in Europe is aimed to strengthen the integrated operation of the automotive coatings business under NPAC, which was created on January 1, 2021. Our goal is to become the leading company in the automotive coatings industry by providing products and one-stop integrated services that will effectively meet the needs of our customers.
